MissionThe University Research Cabinet serves as a consistent, continuing and timely mechanism to enable the leadership of all three campuses to collaboratively facilitate research excellence and productivity, particularly in those instances in which multi-campus participation results in an institutional value and competitive advantage for the University.
The Research Cabinet recognizes and balances the distinctive interests of all three campuses, respects and supports the research administration on each campus, ensures that communication is complete and forthcoming, and invests in the success of the University of Oklahoma as its highest priority.
The Research Cabinet serves as a trusted, innovative, timely and effective organization to foster University-wide research without adding administrative burden.
To create significant1 research projects that have intrinsic value and that promote the success, impact and stature of the University.
The primary focus of the Research Cabinet is on research involving two or more campuses.
To facilitate and expedite research (in the broadest sense) by bringing together on a timely schedule the University’s strongest combination of human and other resources, to minimize barriers between and among campuses, and to collectively promote the University’s research success and excellence.
The Research Cabinet meets quarterly to discuss the university’s research agenda. Five members of the Research Cabinet comprise the Research Cabinet Operating Committee which meets bi-weekly to manage the continuing flow of research topics.
The Operating Committee organizes issues before actions are considered by the Research Cabinet.
