Research Opportunities
The University of Oklahoma has several innovative approaches to the organization of its research programs and the resulting opportunities for university researchers and their collaborators. Descriptions of a number of key programs are listed below.
- Alpha Time
A scheduled time at which faculty and graduate students from the three campuses are invited to hear and discuss ideas that may result in research proposals, collaborations, new products and services, etc. It is called “Alpha Time” because it occurs earlier in the idea gestation process than Beta testing. - Community of Science
- University Strategic Organizations (Centers and Institutes)
USO, or USOs, represent strategic investment by the University and are subject to a formal planning, approval and review process, typically on an annual cycle with the proposal due early in the calendar year. Several opportunities exist for financially supporting faculty researchers, including internal, external and additional funding sources. Please see the web links below for additional information. - Graduate Student Senate
